How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter the surface area — either length × width or total square feet.
  2. Select the sealer type — each has a different coverage rate per gallon.
  3. Choose the number of coats — 2 coats is recommended for most applications.
  4. Enter cost per gallon for a budget estimate.
  5. Click "Calculate Sealer" to get your results.

The Formula

Gallons per Coat = Surface Area ÷ Coverage Rate (sq ft/gal)
Total Gallons = Gallons per Coat × Number of Coats

Coverage rates vary by sealer type and concrete porosity. New or porous concrete absorbs more sealer (use the lower end of the range). Smooth or previously sealed concrete uses less. Always round up — you can't buy partial gallons.
