The Formula
Wall: Bricks/sq ft = 144 ÷ ((Brick Length + Joint) × (Brick Height + Joint))
Patio: Bricks/sq ft = 144 ÷ ((Brick Length + Joint) × (Brick Width + Joint))
Standard bricks laid in running bond with ⅜" joints = approximately 6.75 bricks per sq ft for walls (face) and 4.5 bricks per sq ft for patios (flat).
Mortar: ~7 bags (70 lb) per 1,000 bricks for walls
