How to Use This Calculator

  1. Enter your room length and width in feet.
  2. Specify the number of doorways and average door width to deduct.
  3. Choose the trim piece length you plan to buy (8, 10, 12, or 16 ft).
  4. Set the waste factor — 10% is standard for miter cuts and mistakes.
  5. Enter inside/outside corners so you know how many corner pieces you need.
  6. Click "Calculate Baseboard" for your full material list.

The Formula

Perimeter = 2 × (Length + Width)
Net Linear Feet = Perimeter − (Doors × Door Width)
Total with Waste = Net LF × (1 + Waste%/100)
Pieces = ⌈Total LF ÷ Trim Piece Length⌉

Always round up to whole pieces. A standard room has 4 inside corners (one per wall joint). Add outside corners for bump-outs, columns, or peninsula walls.
